We were so excited to host McCormick Ranch Little League’s Opening Day at Cocopah Middle School for the very first time this year! Moving forward, we plan to continue making updates to CMS, big and small. Paint, fencing, more shade, and a more accessible walkway from the east parking lot are among the items on the list. We are also working on having the snack bar open every Saturday (and maybe more). Please reach out if you are interested in getting involved with any of our CMS projects.
This OD also marked another record: MRLL’s highest enrollment in history! As recently as March 22, I was still fielding inquiries about registration. With more CMS fields available next season, I am confident we can enroll even more players in the future. That also means hosting OD at CMS each year will allow for even more games. Families expressed really appreciating the intimate feel of having OD at CMS, versus sharing the space with so many others at Chaparral Park, as we have done in the past.
This year’s OD parade melted my heart! I found myself a little teary-eyed seeing those Tee Ball players lead the group onto Field 2. We have such a special community–and some super cool posters, banners, and balloons!
A special thanks to our graduating players, Julius Anwaya, William Mullis, Jax Easterly, and Graham Benson who participated in our opening ceremonies. Ainsley Derr sang a beautiful National Anthem and Ellie Rihl is officially carrying the torch for our future graduating class of Bulls.

On a final note, I would like to take a moment to remind you about our Brandt Temple Scholarship. This scholarship commemorates former assistant coach, Brandt Temple, who passed away unexpectedly over the winter break. We are honoring his memory with a full-year scholarship to play baseball with MRLL, including registration fees for Fall 2024 + Spring 2025. Please nominate a Bull that exemplifies our league’s community values here.
